Learning and Gardening Centers

Learning and Gardening Centers

are the hub of our operations in the Philippines.  They produce an abundant and consistent supply of food for our nutrition programs, are the home base for our educational programs and the center of our job creation efforts.

We utilize a soil based hydroponic approach called the Mittleider Method.  It requires a very specific and consistent method of bed creation, planting, fertigation, irrigation, weed and pest control. This precision not only provides yields far above what is expected in the Philippines, it also assist us as we seek to train our workers (from the ranks of the extreme poor) in technical skills, accountability, teamwork, etc.

We focus on 15 nutrient dense fruits and vegetables and this year will harvest in excess of 350 tons of produce from our three sites.  This represents a 109% increase from 2022 yields.
